An optional steel recycling plate insert is available on the BPR2 and BPR3 bear proof receptacles. Choose the hole size to fit what you want to collect. Order #BPR-PC1 with 3” diameter hole; or #BPR-PC5 with 4-3/8” diameter hole; or #BPR-PC6 with a 5-7/8” diameter hole. Then specify which decal you want for each hatch.
Each BPR bear proof receptacle includes hatch decals. Just specify which decal(s) you need for your trash and recycling collection program.

Bear Proof Trash and Recycling ReceptaclesWhen a bear gets into your trash you’ve got a BIG mess and a BIG problem! The bear proof trash and recycling receptacle is designed … and tested … to keep bears out. Watch the video! The un-bear-able features include: • Construction: All heavy 14 ga. steel fabrication. Round shape provides structural strength. Brown textured powder coat paint finish is standard. Two other colors available. Ships fully assembled. Receptacle sits up off the ground for extended service life. • Standard Equipment: Includes 36-gallon heavy duty rigid plastic liners. Model BPR1 includes a tilt-out frame on which you can hang plastic garbage bags if you prefer (bags not included). Four-point or six-point surface anchor base with ½” x 5” concrete screw anchor bolts included. Unit must be anchored to be bear proof. • Front Access Door: The front door design provides easier access to the liner inside and more installation location options. On Model BPR1 the door release is inside the receptacle and accessible when the hatch is open. On Models BPR2 and BPR3 the latches are on the outside. Two latch points keep the door tightly closed. • Large Hatch Opening: 16-inch diameter hinged hatch opens up for easy depositing of trash or recyclables. The extra wide hinge keeps the round lid from twisting. The hatch edge is vinyl trimmed for safety and provides a more weather tight seal. Includes hatch decal of your choice, please specify. The spring loaded trigger release for hatch is covered to limit access to human fingers only.
• Optional: Textured powder coat finish is available in brown (/CW), green (/CN) or blue (/CU) colors. • Optional: Band-It trash bag loop to hold your trash bag on the rack included on the BPR1 only. • Optional: Recycling plate installed under the hatch on 2- and 3-module receptacles only.
